Fungal Toenail Infection

Toenail fungus, or onychomycosis, is an infection underneath the surface of the nail caused by fungi. When the tiny organisms take hold, you often get large, thick and painful toenails. Debris may collect beneath the nail plate, white marks frequently appear on the nail plate, and the infection is capable of spreading to other toenails, the skin or even the fingernails. If ignored, the infection can spread and possibly impair your ability to work or even walk. The resulting thicker nails are difficult to trim and make walking painful when wearing shoes. Onychomycosis can also be accompanied by a secondary bacterial or yeast infection in or about the nail plate.

Laser Toenail Fungus Treatment

Standard treatments for toenail fungus include oral medication and lacquers that can be painted onto nails. However, an innovative laser procedure now offers significant advantages to those treatments. The Pinpointe laser is a breakthrough medical technology that is clinically proven to eliminate toenail fungus. It is effective in helping patients achieve clearer nails after just one laser treatment, though some patients may require more than one laser session.

  • The Pinpointe laser is effective on all types of nail fungus.
  • The procedure is safe, with no medication needed.
  • Laser toenail fungus treatment is PAIN FREE, although you may experience a warm sensation during laser application.

The procedure takes about 30 to 45 minutes.
