[toggle title=”What type of insurance do you take?” value=”i”]Barrett Podiatry happily accepts assignments of benefits from all major insurance carriers including BCBS, Aetna, UHC, Humana, Triwest, Tricare and Medicare, as well as Medicare Advantage Plans PFFS. In order to serve more patients’ needs, we also provide care through managed care plans including HMOs (health maintenance organizations) and PPOs (preferred provider organizations) with the appropriate referral. Normally, we receive HMO referrals through patients’ primary care physicians. Self referrals are generally permitted for PPO participants. However, because POS (point of service) plans are a modified PPO, they may require a referral from your physician.[/toggle]

[toggle title=”Can I take more medication that is prescribed on my medication bottle?” value=”i”] No, not without consent from your doctor. Call the office if you have questions about your medication.[/toggle]
[toggle title=”What do I do if I’m having a reaction to my medications?” value=”i”] Stop taking it. If the reaction is that severe, go to the ER. If not, contact the office for a possible change in medication or instructions.[/toggle]
[toggle title=”How do I care for my surgical site until I follow up with my doctor?” value=”i”] Keep clean and dry. Do not scrub, rub, or scratch your incision. Do not disturb your surgical bandage unless given specific instructions by your doctor.[/toggle]
[toggle title=”When will I get my prescriptions for pain medicine or anti–biotics?” value=”i”] Post–op prescriptions are given by your doctor either before or the day of surgery.[/toggle]
[toggle title=”When will I get time confirmation for time of arrival for surgery?” value=”i”] Office staff will call a couple of days prior to surgery to let you know when you should arrive for your procedure.[/toggle]
[toggle title=”Why do I need to bring my previous x–rays to my first visit?” value=”i”] Previous films are needed so the physician can see your injury immediately after it happened, and so the doctor can compare the images to the new images if needed.[/toggle]
[toggle title=”What does an MRI show?” value=”i”] It will show high quality images of the inside of the human body.[/toggle]
